There is no validity to rumors that former Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer has any interest in the Iowa State football coaching vacancy, Brent Hubbs of Volquest.com, the Rivlas.com Tennessee Web site, said.

Fulmer’s name was linked to the Cyclone opening on KXNO radio Thursday morning.

Hubbs also said Fulmer is being advised to sit next year out and decide if he really wants to coach again. Fulmer was forced at Tennessee this fall. He had coached at Tennessee since 1992 and led the Volunteers to the 1998 national championship.
