ISU beats Tennessee State 84-53

Iowa State flirted with the school record for field goal percentage as it defeated Tennessee State 84-53 on Tuesday.

The Cyclones (5-0) hit their first 10 shots and shot 61.5 percent for the game. The school record is 74.4 percent. It was set against Georgia in 2004. ISU’s shooting percentage hovered around 70 percent for the first 30 minutes.

Marquis Gilstrap had his second career double-double. He scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Diante Garrett had 11 points and seven assists. Craig Brackins had 12 points and five rebounds.

Also, Scott Christopherson had 12 points. He’s scored in double figures in all five games.

Thanks to their shooting success the Cyclones went into the half up 40-26.

Josh Sain led the Tigers with 12 points. Tennessee State had 18 turnovers.
