Diante Garrett broke a bone in his right foot during a Monday night workout. He expects to be out six or seven weeks and should have more than enough time to recover before Iowa State begins preseason practice.
Garrett arrived at Capital City League on Wednesday wearing a walking boot. He said the injury happened when teammate Scott Christopherson stepped on his foot during a one-on-one drill.
Garrett, who started at point guard last season, will be a junior this fall. He had been averaging 27.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists in the Capital City League.
