Iowa State quarterback Austen Arnaud is in a heated battle with quarterback Phillip Bates for the starting position. ISU coach Gene Chizik said both players made strides in the spring and he is no closer to naming a starter than he was in April.
The wait is over. The Iowa State football team starts practice for the 2008 season Friday. At Big 12 Media Days Wednesday, coach Gene Chizik said the Cyclones have plenty of ground to cover before opening the season against South Dakota State Aug. 28. |
